Ty Dillon may be a rookie for the 2012 Camping World truck series season, but he is poised for it to be a successful one. Dillon will again drive for Richard Childress Racing, the successful race team owned by his grandfather, Richard Childress. Make no mistake, Dillon is not driving for RCR simply because he is family; he is extremely talented.

The 2011 ARCA series season shows just how good Dillon really is. He showed competitiveness on various styles of racetracks, winning 7 times throughout the year. That success brought him the series championship, winning by a significant margin over his competitors. Anytime he strapped into the #41 Chevrolet, led by crew chief Scott “Flash” Naset, he was always a threat for the win.

Dillon’s dominating season in ARCA led to him getting the opportunity to drive a third RCR entry in three races at the end of the 2011 truck series season. He performed well in all of them, including two top-ten’s at Texas and Homestead. In those races, he worked with his ARCA crew, and they didn’t miss a beat. That could certainly spells trouble for the rest of the competition this season.

Dillon’s ARCA team will make the move with him to the truck series and will be the No. 3 team. They’ll utilize the same equipment that was used by Ty’s brother, Austin, to win the 2011 truck series championship. Austin’s championship winning team moves with him to the Nationwide Series for this coming season. Overall, Ty Dillon is certainly ready for the jump to the truck series and excited about the opportunity.

“We're ready to fight for wins and we have the confidence that we can go out and win races next year. We've all got the confidence in each other, we're looking forward to it and we're going to do whatever it takes.” Quote from nascar .com

There’s no reason to believe Dillon and his team won’t do exactly that.
